Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

Not only has Alice in Wonderland always been a favorite children's book, but the addition of the illustrations by MinaLima creates an absolutely beautiful version of this tale. It combines the classic images of Carroll's book with a new revamped graphic design.

When creating this photo, I looked to my youth and the wonders that I found in this book reading it for the first time. I knew I had to include chess and chess pieces along with many teacups and teapots as well as playing cards. I decided to showcase a few favorite characters as well including Bill the Lizard, The Walrus, and The White Rabbit. Why those three? Well, for some reason as a child I loved the image of a lizard checking on Alice through a chimney and then the Disney's animation really sold me as a Bill fan. The Walrus and the Carpenter is by far one of my favorite poems and moments in the book! Lastly, the White Rabbit in my opinion represents the curiosity of childhood. His clock reminding us that youth is not forever but that we must hold on to our curious selves.
