Dracula

What can kill a Vampire? Well, there have been many different ideas and ways throughout literature. I personally love the classic stake to the heart or a silver bullet. I was 19 when I first read Dracula and completely devoured it. After growing up reading about "Sparkly Vampires" (I was only able to finish the first Twilight book), Dracula was a breath of fresh and gothic air. Victorian Gothic has always had a special place in my heart because of this book. It was the first adult fantasy book I read as a teen that stuck with me past its end. I loved the Count and after finishing the book went into a deep history dive to read more about his possible inspiration Vlad the Impaler. From Van Helsing to the curse of Mina Murray, this book is a classic for a reason!
