Lord of the Flies
By: William Golding
This book has always been on my favorite reads list. Lord of the Flies was the first book that made me truly ask what we as humans are capable of in extreme settings and if we truly are as advanced as we think. The brilliance of the Lord of the Flies is that Golding uses children to convey his message of primal instinct. This book stuck with me for so long that I even created a painting based off the book. The idea that at our core we are just as animalistic as the beasts of the wild was an eye opening moment in my youth reading the book. To this day, I don't think I've ever been as affected by a book than by Lord of the Flies. Its brilliance is its shocking cruelty.
This painting was gifted to my dear cousin who also fell in love with this book! Acrylic on Canvas with pages from the book.
