The Adventures of Pinocchio

The Adventures of Pinocchio

The Story of Pinocchio has been told many times and ways, but the original story by Carlo Collidi is my favorite. Written during the Italian Wars the story originally was an allegory for Collod's anger with the Italian Government but soon became and icon in children's literature. The story of a puppet who has a knack for not following rules and getting into trouble helped bring lessons to children on what would happen if you didn't follow the rules or adults. It was a great example of how literature explained right from wrong with the magic of fairy tales. Featured props in this photo include my Italian Grandfather's own wood working tools (this was especially fun to add my own heritage to the photo as well), Jimminy the Cricket, the Lame Fox, and the Great Dogfish who swallowed Geppetto and Pinocchio!
